![]() ![]() I changed my password as suggested with in three hours but I was "never" alerted any account information was changed. Yes, I should have been more alert there was a problem however eBay's message clearly says no personal information was changed. Is there anything I can do to get back my purchase dollars through Bank, PayPal or eBay? All information has been put back correct. "Ship to" info is another lower menu that has to be accessed beyond personal information which showed the correct address "but for billing only".Īll passwords for bank, PayPal and of course eBay have been changed again. Long story short, back on Jan 13th, when eBay sent the account hold message, someone had indeed accessed my account and changed the "ship to" address which I didn't see when checking my account info. Once it showed delivered to an address in New York, I contacted the seller and claimed he shipped to address on order. I still didn't look at the actual order info at this point. My first clue there was a problem should have been two day UPS ground ship from "New Jersey to me in Texas". "As I usually do" I purchased the items and waited a day for the shipping email from the seller's. Everything appeared fine.įive days later I purchased a cordless tool from one seller and add on parts for that tool from another seller. On the same day Jan 13th "3 hours later" I changed my password, then checked all orders and scanned through personal account info to make sure nothing was changed. Your eBay password was reset to make sure no one can access your account but you." We understand that this could be concerning, but your account and personal information are safe. "We wanted to let you know that your eBay account has been secured because your login information may have been used without your permission. Then on Jan 13th I received a message from eBay at 2:19 am that read like this: All orders showed on the way to my address in TX. Someone decided to hack into my Ebay account and start listing for me lolThey added listings and linked their Paypal account so they would get paid for the s. ![]() I wish I could buy some Anthrax and mail it to him.Placed three orders on Jan 12th for some auto parts and everything was fine. I have the hacker's shipping address he used for the tent. Never mind the effort it will take to update my email on all the websites I use : FML. Should I just nuke this email and make a new one? I had a perfect, clean, professional name so it's gonna piss me off to throw a 1 or a dot on it or something similar, it never looks as good. I think that outside of the initial burst, it's pretty manageable if you stay on top of it. Got everything flagged as spam and deleted, and now they're trickling in at 2-3 emails per hour. I was getting shite in russian, arabic, spanish, everything. Spam folder grabbed 1500 of them, and the other 1500 went to inbox. To cover their tracks and slow down my reaction time, they ran a bot that subscribes me to all kinds of newsletters all over the world. A quick call with ebay got my account back and paypal already reversed the charge. He changed my ebay username, email, password, etc, so I had no way to get into the account. As someone who is OCD about keeping my inbox clean and organized, this is my worst nightmare Some dude got past the 2FA (didn't think this was possible) on my ebay account and ordered a $500 tent at 5:40am. ![]()
